This is the principle according to which the professional staff of the Institute of Food and Beverage Innovation (ILGI) operates. The production of delicious, healthy, safe and sustainable food is central to the objectives of all our projects. In order to address the complexity of sustainable developments in the food industry, we understand the entire value chain for food and beverages, in particular, the four critical dimensions of the environment, society, economy and health.
We are system-oriented engineers with technological and analytical skills, who use their knowledge to the benefit of our clients and students. We see practicality and transdisciplinarity as prerequisites for successful innovation.
Project contracts
The aim of our research and development activities is to provide solutions for the food and beverage industry in Switzerland and abroad. The educational programmes offered by the Institute benefit from this specialist knowledge.
The emphasis of the Bachelor's degree programme in Food Technology is on the production and evaluation of food products and both process and quality management. The following areas of specialisation are offered as part of the course:
- Food Technology
- Beverage Technology
- Nutrition
The Master's programme in Life Sciences provides students with an in-depth knowledge of innovation in the food and beverage industries. A wide range of continuing education courses is also available.
Services offered
Staffing shortages? Lack of knowledge or expertise? Lack of infrastructure? We will address your outstanding issues, such as market research, consulting, new product introductions, surveys, tests, development of product concepts, and training. The services offered provided by the Institute will be charged at competitive rates.
